We are looking for an experienced Air, Ocean, Road, 3PL Logistics Operations Manager to join our Basildon client’s organisation. Within this challenging full-time permanent role, you will be supporting the Branch Manager in the day to day running and further development of their growing Logistics Operation. • A proven track record in leading/managing operations teams, strong leadership, financial analysis, negotiation and customer satisfaction skills.
• Knowledge and experience of all transport modes; Air, Ocean and Road
• Knowledge and experience of 3PL and warehousing activities
• Knowledge of Customs formalities, ideally with experience of AEO
• The ability to work effectively in a business environment characterised by complexity, ambiguity and rapid change.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, change management and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
• proven ability to effectively resolve customer complaints / problems and restore or maintain business.
• To be highly organised with an excellent attention to detail.
• A personable approach as you will be liaising with many individuals, internally and externally.

£45,000 - £55,000pa

Basildon

Our client is offering a salary of £45,000 - £55,000pa and a wealth of very good company benefits. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Providing hands on management of the day to day running of the Basildon operational activities and ensuring policies and procedures are followed in accordance with company mandates and external certifications. Identifying and implementing new procedures.
• Support and assist with meeting and exceeding budgeted targeted revenue, gross profit, operating expense and net income goals and plans.
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of a high performing, customer-focused branch facility whilst implementing and managing strategic and operational plans to meet short and long-term objectives and goals.
• Ensuring employees are trained, measured and managed within operational processes and standards.
• Negotiating and monitoring supplier contracts as necessary.
• Preparing timely and accurate management information and reporting as required
• Supporting with interview, hiring and monitoring of staffing levels and administering performance reviews and training new staff in all necessary procedures, empowering staff and encouraging progression.
• Ensuring a clean, properly organised, safe, healthy and professional business facility and environment for all personnel.
• Client liaison / escalation point for problems and dealing with non-standard issues as they arise.
• Ensuring service levels are maintained.
• Supporting the teams in their daily duties.
• Addressing failures and analysing root causes, implementing corrective actions to avoid repetition of failures.
