Residential Service Charge Accountant

Our client a professional and thriving organisation based in Southend are looking for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for the role will have experience in a similar Accounting role within residential property management along with the IRPM Industry Qualification or similar.

• A good understanding of leasehold property accounting
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
• Knowledge of lease interpretation, apportionment, schedules, balancing and reserve fund compliance.
• Knowledge of Section 20B legislation
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to work to deadlines

Circa £30,000pa

Southend

A salary of Circa £30,000pa, potential hybrid working, 25 days holiday which increases with service, ongoing industry training and personal development and further company benefits once you have passed your probation period.

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm with 1 hour lunch or 9.00am to 5.00 with half hour lunch.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Production of residential service charge accounts
• Reconciliation of independently prepared accounts
• Client liaison on all accounting matters
• Internal liaison with Property Managers
• Assisting with complex queries from Property Managers
• Production of year end certificates and explanations with final accounts
• Supporting the Property Managers and Branch Managers in the local branch
• Assisting RMC Directors in the understanding of the service charge accounts
• Attending AGMs and other meetings with clients as required
• Ensuring RICS Service Charge Residential Management Code is adhered to
